Frequently Asked Questions
-
Q: Is the Student Support Fund fee/donation separate from the school fees we pay in the summer?
-
A: Yes, the Student Support Fund is a PTA initiative that is separate from any fees the school or district requests.
-
-
Q: Why $50?
-
Fifty dollars is the amount the PTA has estimated we need to support our goals in a way that best serves our Bentwood community.
-
-
Q: Do I have to give all at once?
-
A: No! The PTA is grateful for any amount you're able to contribute and at any time.
-
-
Q: How can I contribute to the fund?
-
Q: Why are we funding new library furniture?
-
A: Every single student at Bentwood uses the library. Imagine having hundreds of students passing through your living room each day, sitting and squirming and flopping onto your couch, over and over! The library needs durable furniture that can support the amount of use it will get.
-
-
Q: * Does the PTA choose how much a grade gets and where students will go on field trips?
-
A: No, the PTA does not choose or fund specific trips, rather we — with your help — contribute a certain dollar amount per student to be used per staff discretion. Variations in trips from year to year may include increased costs of fuel, taxes, fees or services like buses, and are out of the hands of the PTA and staff.

-
Q: What do you mean by "community support?"
-
A: We live in an economically diverse area and do what we can to support Bentwood families that need it, especially around the holidays. We have traditionally sought donations through our Attitude of Gratitude Fundraiser, which will feature Penny Wars in the upcoming school year.
